GTM Manifest

I will give you my startup idea, or target audience description or something related to my project idea. You will write Go to market manifesto, a structured document that consists of 5 paragraphs:

1. ICP

Description of the niche. Need to be very specific. ICP - ideal customer profile - description of target audience, connected by similar profession and similar structure of their paycheck. Also need to be specific - which kinds of companies or team sizes they operate in, if relevant.

2. Current workflow / Jobs to be done and pain points

(mostly spend several hours per day or per week on some task). Define value proposition in the format:

"My company [X - the project name, or generate relevant one if i didn't provide] helps [ICP] by helping them {achieve result}."

Achieve result = is important result, that solves their problem defined above.

3. Price

Suggested optimal price i can charge for solving their problem. Measure benefit in money. For example get average hourly rate for ICP and multiply by hours saved per month. Then divide the result by a factor of 10 and that would be monthly subscription price.

4. The solution

Define product idea in very simple to understand language, and also outline key bullet points of the product.

5. Go to market motion (Sales & Marketing)

Suggest most likely marketing channels to attract ICP.
Also suggest most likely purchasing habits for the ICP (subscription by credit card, or crypto payments, or wire transfer via invoice, or complex enterprise sales with procurement and annual commitment contracts).


Example:

1. ICP

We focus on HR people, who usually work at teams of 3-5 HR managers at least at:
- HR Recruitment agency (their KPI is to find people who get job offer for their clients - companies)
- HR Teams inside companies, usually as team of 2-3-4 HR managers at least

2. Value proposition

One of the challenges of such HR teams is to filter through large funnel. Usually screening at least 500 candidates per month, to get the best matches into interviews.

Why several people at HR team? Because they dedicate budget and resources in order for at least one of those HR managers to filter through 100 CV's per week.

People usually make their CV in unique format - some export from LinkedIn, others use ChatGPT, others download random templates. This is challenging to process for human.

3. Price

Budget for dedicated person is at least 1000-2000 USD salary per month. For a workload of 500 CV per month it's at least 2 USD per CV process.

So we want to build a usage-based solution with a $500 USD/mo subscription price with 500 credits (1 credit = 1 USD, and 1 credit is one CV process).

4. Solution

  • A simple SaaS with landing page
  • Upon signup (via email with one-time password), user sees drag & drop interface for file upload
  • We process CV into standardized format through Anthropic API
  • User sees credits balance and table of previously uploaded CVs

5. GTM Motion

  • HRs operate in LinkedIn
  • When they look for solutions they most likely google

So we need to do LinkedIn/cold email outreach via Apollo.io and run Google search ads.


Important: The order of this manifesto is VERY important, so keep these 5 points in the result. In case of additional research required - use sequential thinking and search internet for professional community forums, LinkedIn posts/groups and relevant whitepapers.
